What I Got For Christmas 2018

So for the past 4 consecutive years I’ve done a ‘what I got for Christmas’ post and I don’t do them to brag I simply write them, because I genuinely enjoy reading others and I know there’s others like me who love having a nosey to see what other people got. So rather than breaking a tradition I seem to have going on here on DarlingJordan I decided to keep going and do it again this year.
As always this in no way a bragging post and I’m extremely greatful for everything I got this year.
So let’s jump right in!

Keeping Healthy Over The Festive Season

So we've finally entered into the last few weeks of the festive season and I feel like every second person I walk by is either sniffling or coughing away. But fear not, I've four products I wanna tell you all about today that I've been loving to help keep healthy during the festive season.
Thankfully I've been lucky enough for them all to be helping anytime I feel like something is trying to creep up on me.

New Beauty Products Added To My Collection - First Impressions

Over the past month and a bit I've actually surprised myself at how little makeup I've bought, I mean somehow I still managed to blow my paycheque within three days but it clearly wasn't all on makeup (instead it was all on Halloween things and a new Ralph Lauren handbag bc I rly enjoy treating myself to designer bags it seems.) However Ofcourse I couldn't not add a few different beauty items to my collection over the last month because I definitely do not have that much willpower!
Jumping straight in I ordered a cheeky little Beauty Bay order and for awhile I had been eying up the BeautyBay x Jordan Lipscombe palettes, now I'm not going to lie what got my attention about this was I seen the name Jordan and was like 'oh look my name is on that I must have it' #truestory. After going back and forth on and off the website for awhile I decided it was about time I treated myself a little cause I definitely don't do that everyday and ordered the 'Fuego' palette and my goodness am I happy I did. I'm going to get something silly out of the way first - it comes with stickers and one of those stickers is my name so you can bet that went straight onto the front of my MacBook! Stickers out of the way onto the actual palette. Consisting of 6 shadows and 2 highlighter shades I was quite excited to try it being that I had never tried a BeautyBay own brand product before so I wanted to see was it any good. I had seen rave reviews about the BeautyBay palettes from my girl Courtney @ LashesandLuxe so I knew what to expect but I still was excited to see for myself.

Mario Badescu Skincare - Hit or Miss?

Since the beginning of 2018 Mario Badescu was a brand that made it onto my ‘must try something from this brand at some point of this year’ list. After hearing rave reviews about numerous of products I knew that I wanted to have at least one product in my collection to give a whirl. Fast forward to 11 months into the year (which is actually crazy because where on earth did those 11 months go already!?) I finally have two products that I’ve been trialing over the past few months and now I can finally share my opinions on Mario Badescu skincare products….well the ones I’ve tried obviously.

Fool Proof Self Tanning

So back in April I decided that a resolution I would make for myself in May was too master fake tanning, why?! A little because I was just beyond sick of my Snow White complexion and a little I suppose was peer pressure....oh and the ridiculous heat wave we had!
Anyways I was one of those people who would mess about with fake tan for one day out of the year, not really understand it, wake up orange and patchy and then proceed to never touch a bottle of tan again until the next year. So the month of May was an interesting one consisting of patchy tan streaks, hand marks where I had wiped the tan off un-nonce to myself, dodgy orange knuckles and elbows, hands that didn't look human, one day I was even green and then the odd day where I had nailed it.

So after a good 3 months of self tanning I've finally figured out the fool proof tans that work for me, and while my hands still never look quite right I'm almost always guaranteed I can wake up in the morning with a golden glow and no streaky lines! So I've tried quite a few and lived through a few disastrous tanning mishaps to bring you this post!

Beauty Products I've Been Loving This Summer

So lets address the elephant in the room, it's been two months and here I am acting like it's totally normal to just upload a post without addressing where I've been. But I've just paid for my domain for another year so Darling Jordan is sticking around. So rather than giving excuses as to why I haven't been posting lets just right back into the swing of things.

So I thought what a better way than getting back to normal than with a favourites post. It's been ages since I done one of these and I've kind of gathered everything together that I've been loving from May to right now. Some have obviously been in my life longer than others but these have definitely been my Summer gems so far.

I'm going to start with Tans because yup thats right back in May this girl made it her goal to figure out self tan and ever since I've 9 times out of 10 been wearing fake tanner. Of course there has been mishaps in-between where it was streaky and uneven and hey I was even green for a day...but thats for a whole other post next time! However all that aside Tantastic became my favourite tanning brand (and trust me I tried my fair few). I fell head over heels with the formulas, the scent and the overall colour it would give you. The Fast Drying Self Tan Lotion I was using in Medium for a very long time, literally think this is my fourth tube but I just adore it. So it has a colour indicator meaning you can easily spot if you've missed anywhere and come morning time you have the most gorgeous Golden Goddess tan ever. The lotion is also really moisturising on the skin and spreads so easily.
After using the lotion for a few weeks I decided to venture out and decided to go with the same brand but try out their Fast Drying Self Tan Liquid in Dark and I instantly fell in love with this too. Now again the colour this gives is just beautiful, like I'm talking a tan from the Bahamas in a bottle. The only thing about the Liquid is you really have to make sure your skin is well moisturised as its not as moisturising as the Lotion is. However these two have been my go to self tanners for the past two months and I honestly have now turned into the person who cannot stand looking at my usual Snow White like skintone.

A Personal To Do List For May

I'm writing this in April having already broken 90% of the things I'm going to list below which is why it's going to be for the month of May. I find that when I write things down and put them out into the universe I tend to stick to them a little better than if I just said them to myself.

So here are a few things I want to achieve in May

Whats Inside My Ralph Lauren Handbag

Over the Easter Holidays while out shopping I spotted a handbag that I just couldn't walk past like seriously even the price tag couldn't make me walk away from it and I just had to have it. I'm not entirely sure when I became such a pink handbag kind of person but this bag just ticked off absolutely everything I loved so I had to make it mine and of course since this baby entered into my life I haven't put it down. Never did I think I could be in love with a handbag as much as I am with this one.

So say hello to my gorgeous Lauren Ralph Lauren princessy pink handbag.
And lets get into what it's currently holding inside.

Things I Still Don't Understand As A Twenty Something Year Old

I'm not going to lie it's currently 2:18am on a Saturday night and I have my headphones in with Taylor Swift blasting and I've just filled an A4 page with ideas for this blog post, so in my slightly sleep deprived state I'm going to try and write out all my points in hopes they make sense so future me who has to come back and proof read this won't have much to do - apologies future me.

As it's beyond past my bedtime I'm going to say I feel a bit sassy tonight and if the odd swear word or words slip into this post I apologise in advance if it offends you but sure I'll go back to PG me in my next blog post : )

So here are just some of the things my 2am mind decided to let me know I don't understand at my age.

General Adulting things - So you're going to be shocked a little and will more than likely shake your head but like cooking is not my thing, nor has it ever been nor do I see it being in the near future, in my opinion there ain't nothing wrong with a microwave dish from M&S (true story, try their four cheese ravioli in tomato sauce dish it's all I've eaten for lunch the past two weeks) I mean pop it in the microwave for no more than four minutes and bam you've got yourself some food OR get on the just eat app and bam you've got yourself a person at your door delivering you food. I mean my attitude right now is if they don't have to cook a meal in the Big Bang Theory why should I!?
Taxes like ugh why, I get paid monthly and I swear the tax mans ear must be burning for the amount of times I bitch about him when I check my payslip every month. Another thing is bills, like luckily I don't have very many bills in actual fact I have three, my dogs subscription box, my Spotify subscription and my Netflix subscription but in my mind they're bills! Like why does everything I love want to take my money every month *rolls eyes* I realise I don't have much of a leg to stand on with this point but I'm still going to whinge about it! Making appointments for yourself or just in general talking to somebody you don't know on the phone...how do people do it without having precisely 5 panic attacks? Legit if I'm asked to make a phone call in work I will go and find somebody who's more adult than I am and ask if they'll do it for me #truestory.

How To Have The Perfect Cosy Night In

Cosy Night In
Cosy Nights in are my forte. 99% of the time you will find me under a fort made of blankets, surrounded by fairy lights and candles, binge watching Netflix with a hot beverage. Whether you feel like you need a good 'oul pamper, an evening where you can just completely chill or as a just because, Cosy Nights in are the best way to de-stress after a long day. So onto the essentials!

Netflix:
I honestly can hold my hand up and say how on earth did we survive without Netflix over the years. I've had my subscription going for well over a year now and it's been very rare for me to switch on normal television ever since, I mean how do people deal with all those adverts during shows?! Depending on how cosy I want to be determines what I watch Netflix on (please tell me this is the same for everybody else or am I just a tad bit strange?) So if I'm just wanting to chill out normally my laptop or phone is my choice depending on which one is charged more, but for ultimate relaxation it's my tv because then I can be in bed totally relaxed, plus the screen is bigger than all the other devices so it's usually my go to. Even better when it's a HDR Panasonic TV you're watching it on! So now that you've Netflix loaded and have figured out what device you're watching it on it's time to pick what you want to watch, a Rom-Com, Trash Reality Tv (who doesn't love this) or maybe continue binge watching your current tv show you're loving. Currently in the 'My List' section because I've been loving them are Riverdale, Gossip Girl, Just Go With It, Now You See Me 2 and Love Rosie.

Valentines 2018 Gift Ideas

Valentines Day Gift Ideas
Valentines Day is approaching and whether you have a date to see Mr.Grey or are having a chill night on the couch gifts are bound to come up, again whether it be a #treatyoself day or a gift exchanging day theres really no way of escaping it at all. So I decided to put together a little gift ideas post to inspire what you gift yourself or your significant other. Spoiler Alert - this gal has already treated herself to a Valentino handbag because #TeamTreatYoself

Sheldon Turns 4

Travelling back to January 28th saw my little boy turn four years of age. I was ready to not write this little post but after going through my 'pets' section of my blog I noticed that I documented his last three birthdays so it didn't feel right just skipping over this one so I decided to share some photos of his birthday party with you all.

A Week Through My Lipsticks

A Week Through My Lipsticks
Something I love wearing is lipsticks, however I do have to push myself to wear them. Sometimes I'm just not bothered and will pop a bit of lip balm on and go about my day but I'm trying to get out of that habit. I successfully made it through a week of wearing a different lipstick each day and I thought I'd share which ones I opted for out of my lip drawer.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette and Lip Contour Kits Review

Huda Beauty
I asked on Twitter and Instagram what was the next post you all would like to see next and Huda Beauty won. So here I am giving the people what they want ;)
Huda Beauty blew up last year in the sense that I couldn't go onto any social media platform without seeing someone mention it or a photo popping up of it somewhere. For Christmas I was lucky enough to receive a few bits from the range so obviously I was over the moon to finally see what all the hype was about.

The Prettiest Pink Perfumes Currently In My Collection

Pretty Fragrance
2017 was the year that my love for fragrances soared through the roofs and I ended up gathering up quite the collection than what I would usually have. Ranging from Dior to Chanel to Gucci and everything in between I think I finally have a solid collection where I definitely could have a different perfume for everyday in the month (thats bad I know). So today I was feeling quite pink I don't know what it was, I think I had been scrolling through numerous amounts of my favourite pink instagram accounts that kinda inspired me to gather all my favourite pink perfumes together and share them with you all. I mean who doesn't love a colour themed post!?

5 Blog Resolutions I Want To Achieve In 2018

Happy New Year!

I'm not sure if 'blog resolutions' are a thing anymore but this year I want to make some that I can hopefully stick to and by the end of 2018 be able to tick them all off as completed. 2017 was a bad year for my blog, I just had no time for it what so ever and even though I did miss it when I went to sit down to write something, something else would come up and so it would be put on the long finger. This year however I want to make time for it, last year for my birthday I deliberately bought a MacBook for the reason of getting back into blogging so I'm not allowing anything to hold me back from this moment on!
