I love me a good oul update post, I guess because in reality I'm just quite a nosey person. So I decided it was about time I done one again.

Blogging

The 26th of July saw Darling Jordan turn 2 years old! I still honestly cannot get over it. It's definitely the longest hobby I've ever had and I'm still as in love with it as I was when I first pressed that publish button on my first post 2 years ago. I spent the evening looking back on my first blog posts and while the photos are horrendous and the writing atrocious I think it's so nice to be able to look back and see how far you've come. I know some people like to rewrite all of their old posts and take new photos but I don't want to do that as I like being able to see my progress and how far I've grown, along with my writing and photography. It may be all cringe but it definitely shows how much you've improved.

I want to say a huge thank you to those of you who read my ramblings here on Darling Jordan, it makes my day when I have my Google Analytics open and I see people from all over the globe reading my latest post. Also a big thank you to anyone who takes time out of their day to comment or to follow me, you all seriously put a smile on my face.

After 2 years I can finally say I'm so happy with how my blog looks right now, spending money on my blog to make it more me was the best thing I done at the start of this year. I finally have something that looks professional but hasn't lost the personal touch of me in it. Still to this day I'm in love with my design and header and don't plan on changing them anytime soon. I even got a phone case made with my logo on it because I love it that much!

I decided to not set any goals for myself to achieve by the time Darling Jordan turns 3. Although I have things I'd like to improve I've decided to not set them as goals as they just put stress on me if I cant see something improving. I also find that when I set goals because of that stress I do anything and everything to avoid blog work. Although we all have those days where we just cannot write or can barely look at our blog, coming back with a fresh mind and loads of ideas is my absolute favourite.

I also decided to buy my own domain, after thinking it through I thought it was about time. I had already spent money on a design and header so thought the whole .com thing should be next so my url is now darlingjordan.com and I'm honestly so excited about it!

So heres to another 2 years Darling Jordan.

Life

I'm finally taking a week and 2 days off work to relax and enjoy the Summer before it's over. I work in an Airport meaning my days start at 3am, 5 days a week. As a result of that I spend a lot of my time catching up on sleep so I cannot wait to not feel like a zombie and not have to wake up to an alarm. Although I plan for it to be a chill kind of week we have decided to go to Ikea one of the days so I can buy some things for my room which I'm excited about.

I'm also really excited to get ahead with my blog work. I cannot wait to be able to just sit and write for hours and still have daylight to take some photos too. I'm currently writing any and every idea that I get into my notebook so that I'll have lots of ideas to choose from.

August has arrived and while I'm still trying to figure out where time has gone it's my Birthday month *happy dance*. At the end of the month I'm turning 22 and you can bet I will be that person tweeting all the Taylor Swift gifs! Although it's also got to the time where I'm being asked what I'd like for my birthday and I honestly have no clue. In reality I don't need anything and everything on my wishlist I've pretty much already treated myself too, so I'm going to have to browse the internet for awhile.

I'm still obsessed with my Victorias Secret handbag, I mean how can you not be. It's got to the stage where I'm dressing myself just so I can take a quick outfit snap with it for Instagram. But a bag that beautiful deserves to be in as many photos as humanly possible, if you've yet to see it I dedicated a whole blog post to it here!

Another thing I'm really excited about is Aragón's ScoobyBox being posted. Yes I signed Aragón up for a monthly subscription box. I did a post all about July's Box here and I also have a discount code for you to get 25% off your subscription. Just use the code DARLING at the checkout! I'm not sure who gets more excited when this is handed through the door, me or the dog.

Something I'm not too happy or excited about is one of my really good work friends is leaving and I honestly don't know what I'm going to do without her happy face forever telling me jokes. We worked together before and we both ended up on the same 4am bus to work because we both live away from work. She's one of those people that if you're in a bad mood she'll just make you laugh. We're forever laughing and joking about when we're together in work. When she informed me she was leaving I went straight onto Funky Pigeon (which was my first time using the website and it's actually good) and ordered her a card. I then decided to pick up a small gift for her too. I just thought it'd be a nice gesture.
I picked up a little pink pastel tea light holder lantern which I just thought was too cute. Along with that I also picked up a Vanilla candle, a fawn jewellery dish & a Bambi makeup bag and popped it into the cute quote gift bag.
Hope you like your gifts Lisa, already miss you!

Other

I picked up a few things from Boots recently and just needed to share how impressed I was by one product in particular. Natural Collection is a stand that I usually just walk by but they recently launched new brow products and highlighters which intrigued me. I picked up the highlighter in 'Rose Glow' and I am so beyond in love with it. I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I do. The colour is stunning and the glow it gives your skin is just something else.

I also picked up one of the 15 year anniversary Kate Moss Rimmel lipsticks, I picked up shade 53 and it's such a gorgeous berry red shade, it's just so up my street. Also they seem to have added a scent because it smells so nice I'm slightly obsessed with it.

Finally I've a giveaway running over on my Instagram to win some Soap and Glory minis along with a Seventeen mascara and one of the Natural Collection highlighters because it's amazing! Just click here to be brought to the photo to enter.
