Life Lately - Starting A New Job & Aurora's Operation

So I thought it was finally about time I did a little update post again on life as over the past week a lot of things have changed and I feel like a lot of things are going to change here on Darling Jordan too!

Life Things:

So if you follow me on Twitter  I'm sure you'll know by my complaining of how tired I am that I started a new job in the Airport. I really am enjoying it however I've never been so tired in my life as I have 3am starts in the mornings and my body just isn't used to it yet. I also think I'm getting a cold because of the drastic change and shock. But however I am really enjoying it and it's in one of my favourite stores that I have worked for before. As it is the Airport just like if you're going on holidays staff have to go through security, and on my second day the walk through alarm thingy (you know what I'm talking about) beeped and I freaked out as it had never happened me before throughout all the times I was going on holidays. Turns out it was because of my Alex and Ani bracelets, so guess who's never wearing those again!?
I've also discovered on my lunch breaks I enjoy people watching and watching the planes take off, I am such an old woman it's ridiculous! Theres also a Jo Malone, Chanel and Mac counter 20 steps away from where I work and I'm not to sure how I'm going to control myself if I ever have a spendy kind of day. As I'm so tired though my days basically consist of work and sleep, yesterday was my day off and I swear I must have slept for a good 14 hours! Never take sleep for granted, trust me!
Aurora also had her operation last Wednesday and thankfully everything went well. For those of you who may not be aware what she was getting done, she had to get her front teeth removed after she pulled them forward and broke them when we had her for only two weeks! Thankfully she's fully back to herself eating, giving kisses and playing again. She didn't hate us for too long which is so surprising.
It does however look so funny now when she yawns as there are no teeth on show. She however is fully back to her normal self as she has been biting down on the bars of Sheldon's cage when he won't pay attention to her. She also likes to chase your hand and normally would dig her teeth into you while doing so, however now its just her gums you can feel and it's so funny and strange at the same time. Gone are those ridiculously long teeth and she looks so cute now (well she always did, teeth or no teeth) however the vet said there is a chance that they could grow back, even though they were removed which I personally think is ridiculous because it was not a cheap operation!
As you can see from the photos above what she looked like the day when she had her operation and the photo on the right was taken yesterday and featured on my Snapchat (darlingjordan) so she's fully back to looking herself again.
Probably a bit random but I treated myself to a book last week, but this was a book I have wanted for the longest time. While in Tk Maxx I spotted the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & other stories book that I have wanted for the longest time and decided it was about time I treated myself to it. See a picture of it on my Instagram here! It is honestly the most gorgeous book I own and I cannot wait to start reading it. I have tried to do so several times already but because I've been so tired I end up falling asleep after the first sentence. I got if for just €19.99 which I thought was quite the bargain as I had seen it for much more in book shops.
I also treated myself to the Bunny figurine made from willow sticks, grass and lavender. As soon as I seen it I knew I had to have it, it reminds me so much of things I'd see on Pinterest. It was €9.99 and because it was the last one there of course I had to bring it home with me, I mean just look at it! It's adorable.

Blog Related Things:

So because I've started my new job and I am so tired I don't actually have time to blog as much as I'd like. I would love to be able to stay with the schedule I had but in reality it's just not going to be able to work for me anymore. I'm not going to say what schedule I'm going to have because as of right now I don't actually know. I could upload twice a week I could upload four times a week, I'm just still not sure yet until I get into a proper routine. I would only love to be able to have everything scheduled but I started work much sooner than I expected too so I hadn't scheduled anything in advance. So please bare with me as I try and find my two feet again and try and get some blog work done.

Last week I also decided to start keeping track of my stats, usually I'm not one to really look at numbers although I thought I'd give it a try just to see if my networks are growing and I was actually surprised in a week just how many people followed me on different social media sites. I have also started to use Google Analytics for my blog views and it's so amazing the amount of information that it gives you. I also finally understand the site, well what I need to understand anyway as it used to be a whole load of gibberish to me at first.

I've wrote out a whole notebook page of posts I want to write so I'm definitely not running low on ideas anytime soon. I've also been sent a few lovely things lately and cannot wait to share them with you all!

Loving Lately:

Because I am working again it means I'm wearing makeup on a daily basis and finally getting around to using some favourites again. I've been adoring the No7 Highlighter and Blush chubby sticks, especially the highlight as it's such a gorgeous champagne glow! I also really like how subtle the blush colour is when applied lightly to the cheeks.
I've also rediscovered my Freedom Makeup Pro Glow Pink Cat highlight and it's such a pretty pink shade when all mixed together. I tend to use this on my cheek bones and cheeks at the same time as it's one of those products that stands out when it hits the light and it's very pretty.

Another thing I cannot be without right now is my Smashbox HD Primer, never will I use another primer again as this stuff is keeping my foundation on from 3am till 6pm and I honestly cannot fault it in anyway at all! It's a tad expensive but I truly believe when it comes to base products you get what you pay for.

I've also had Hop on repeat recently considering Easter is almost upon us, although I haven't gotten to watch it fully as I've kept falling asleep but I have seen it many times before and it's my favourite Easter film for sure.

What have you been up to lately?

  1. Congrats on your new job! And I know how horrible those early mornings are - I used to do early shifts in a supermarket and I'd just come home,c ollapse on my bed and sleep all afternoon!! I've always thought it'd be cool to work in an airport though.
